Staff Fire Training

Staff Fire Training

A critcal part of your fire procedures is the training that you give your staff.

You must train all your staff

You must Nominate people to make your emergency procedures work.

Those people should be adequately trained

You will expect your staff to react in a certain way to the sound of the fire alarm.

  • Have you told them how to?
  • Can you prove that you have?

You must nominate people to use the portable fire fighting equipment that you have provided

You Must train Them

or

Bring in a competent person to train them

Imagine hearing that one of your staff has told a fire investigator that they never had any fire training! They didn't know what to do! and you now know that if they are proved right an insurance claim could be made against you? and you could be prosecuted for failure to comply with the fire safety laws.

I can provide your staff with the correct training

to ensure they know how to react. Those persons who are nominated to use fire extinguishers should know the correct type of equipment to use on the fire in front of them.

They should be able to identify when a fire should be left to the fire service.

They should also be able to identify fire dangers and obstructed escape and how to deal with them.

is this you place?

This is a classic case of no staff fire training. In an emergency they couldn't get to the extinguisher or to the fire alarm call point which you can just see in the top of the picture. In addition this rubbish was blocking up the rear Fire Exit escape route, so no one could escape from the fire either. This is a disaster waiting to happen.
